Story Spindles

Stories are one of the greatest gifts that we can give to one another.   For generations stories have been used to provide comfort, inspiration, creativity and adventure.  A Story Spindle is a beautiful wood turned spindle which has been hand crafted and it provides a way to build stories together.

Storytelling gives people the opportunity to express new ideas and create their own worlds. By using a Story Spindle we are encouraged to listen to others and cooperate to develop our ideas.

Story Spindles brings everyone together equally to participate in the storytelling. If you are holding a Story Spindle you have control of the story and your voice can be heard.  By passing a Story Spindle around you can take turns to tell different parts of the story.  Stories can twist and turn depending on how many storytelling rules you use but the idea is to let the narrative flow and encourage everyone to join in to make the story.

Story Spindles are turned by Louisa in her workshop in the West Country.  They are made from natural wood and can be personalised.
